Air New Zealand Uses 2D Barcodes For Boarding
The newly-introduced boarding system includes a beautiful layout with convenient kiosks which enables quick boarding process comes with a lot of other new features as well. For instance, customers can print their own bag tags now, as opposed to standing in line for hours on end just to get tags for their luggage. With the new 2D barcode scanning and easier luggage loading system in place, customers will definitely cut back on the time spent on boarding flights. In fact, there are special boarding entrances for passengers who are without bags and luggage.
The only down part of this amazing new introduction is that Air New Zealand will only be introducing the 2D barcode boarding system in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington airports. All other airports would have to wait. Well, the good news is that there ARE plans to equip the less-important airports with the 2D barcode boarding kiosks but the date is yet to be determined.
IER has been wisely chosen to provide Air New Zealand with these airport 2D barcode scanning system because they’ve been able to catch up with the trend thus far. Theirs is a very well-known and complete 2D barcode scanning system that allows for e-ticketing, e-passports, contactless card readers, bagtag printers, etc.
This is exciting news as flying is now easier than ever before and we’re awaiting, as much as everyone else, for other airlines to catch up with this new technology so that everyone can enjoy seamless boarding and cut back on time spent in queues.
