Blackberry QR Code Readers

We have had friends who know a little about QR Codes and want to learn how to make use of them. It is fantastic that they are now curious enough to venture out into this. Anyway, most have Blackberries (aren’t they the IN thing right now?) and have had a tough time trying to get a QR Code reader to work properly. Thankfully, it has not turned them off trying to work out the QR Code puzzle because it is frustrating to find a QR Code reader that works properly.

First of all, we’ve heard grand reviews about the QR Code reader called NeoReader, it is, in fact, a market leader as far as QR Code decoding is concerned. You can get yours here. Just hop on to the page, download the setup file and install. There is a comprehensive installation guide in there – make use of it and you should be fine. Once you have gotten it installed properly, load up the camera start taking pictures of QR Codes to decode them. Despite a few glitches in NeoReader, it is, by far, one of the best QR Code Readers there is in the market today. The navigation should be a little easier (not everyone’s a tech guy) but one thing’s for sure, it is uncomplicated.

Upcode is another option for Blackberry phone users. The program can be downloaded here. The only concern with this QR Code reader is not the compatibility or the readability – it is the kind of personal information that they require. There are no problems with reading QR Codes and the loading is simple, so, if you are comfortable with revealing your personal information, go ahead.

Others who used BeeTagg for their Blackberry phones issued really graphic and lengthy complaints about the QR Code reader because it was unstable and complicated. However, on other types of smart phones, BeeTagg seems to be working just fine. So, if you have a Blackberry and still wish to try it out, head on over here for the file. However, be warned that there could be errors and you might have to reboot the camera a few times before it gets working. Capturing the QR Code with the camera also requires an EXTREMELY steady hand, otherwise, you would also get error prompts.

We have not had good experience with OkoTag but if you have, then please do leave a comment. On the other hand, there seems to be some really good reviews for MobileTag but there were reports about it being in French and hard-to-navigate interface. Whichever the case may be, you might want to try it out if you have good French.
