Greet Them a Merry Christmas, the QR Code Way!

merry-christmas

Thanksgiving is over and our calendars are down to the December page. Christmas is solidly in the air!

One of the most enduring traditions we have is sending out Christmas cards to loved ones. Family and friends will be delighted to receive our holiday cards and will feel special and remembered.

Most of us buy holiday cards from the stores, and write a personal note for each and every recipient.  This is okay, especially with friends and family from far away whom we have been in touch with during the year. But there are others with whom we haven’t communicated in a very long time. Whichever is the case, it would be nice to add a little bit of spice to your cards.

So this year, why not send holiday cards with QR codes?

A QR code is a great way to direct your recipients to your own Web  site where they could see pictures of you and your family, or a YouTube video where you could deliver to them a warm and personal greeting.  They could hear your voice, watch your face light up animatedly as you wish them the best of the season.  You could also lead friends to your own social networking accounts such as Facebook and Twitter, allowing them to get in touch with you the whole year round.

Right now, it’s so easy to send out a personalized card.  Go for printing services like MerryStockings.com or PSPrint.com where you can just send them a digital image and they’d print it for you.  A great way to keep in touch this season in a very personalized way is to select  your and your family’s best photographs, put them on the cover of a holiday card, then choose a short personal greeting and a QR code for the inside of the card.

With BeQRious.com’s service, you can even come up with a personalized QR code for each one of your friends. This would allow you to further personalize your Christmas greetings!  Just imagine having a YouTube video for your college friends telling them how great your college years were because of them, and then having another YouTube video for close family members telling them how you missed them!

QR codes are very flexible that you could probably come up with a lot of different ways to make your Christmas greetings unique and memorable!

QR codes are still just a novelty for the time being – but isn’t novelty what Christmas is all about? I’ve seen a QR code Christmas card at http://www.goodprint.co.uk/christmas_cards/add/221179 – or with a lot of corporate Christmas card printing sites you can upload one of your BeQRious QR Codes to the inside in place of a logo alongside your message.
