Nintendo DSi To Read Color QR Codes

nintendo-dsi

Nintendo games are popular not only with kids these days, teenagers and grown-ups have been spotted absorbed by Nintendo games as well. In buses, in trains in malls – kids and grown-ups alike love Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games everywhere around the world.

To say that Nintendo is genius is an understatement.

Now, they have taken it a step further. Color Zip has come up with a software that enables QR Code reading in Nintendo DSi. However, it doesn’t work for the older version of the mobile gaming device, DS, because it doesn’t come equipped with a camera like the Nintendo Dsi.

It has been reported that the software gives Nintendo Dsi the ability to read color QR Codes too but in limited colors, i.e. red, black, green and blue. So, if players spot a QR Code, whether it is in color or not, they can load the software and gain instant information if there is Wifi.

Previously, it was not possible for Nintendo Dsi, the problem being that the camera’s low pixel count. The image captured by the device needs to be of a particular quality in order for it to read and decode the information contained within it. So, Nintendo’s new models now come with a more powerful camera.

What does this mean to Nintendo Dsi fans? In the very near future, players can download new games instantly and directly into their Nintendo DSi units, upgrade softwares, find information, download coupons, receive updates, etc directly from the gaming console. It will surely save people quite a bit of time and money this way.

With Nintendo DSi’s new capability, we envision a change in online and mobile gaming devices across the board. Suffice to say, as per usual, Nintendo sets itself apart as an industry leader by being one of the first to implement such features.
