Offline Social Invitation Cards From Papersprings
With emails, Facebook, Twitter and other online greeting cards services (most of which continue to be free of charge), the offline printed greeting cards industry is, understandably, doing pretty badly. Not many people are willing to pay for a greeting card or an invitation card these days when there are guilt-free and budget-friendly ways to do it online. Except for the fact that printed greeting and invitation cards are more personal.
However, the offline greeting cards industry is not about to bow out…just yet. They’re upping their game by embracing the internet and mobile marketing.
Paperspring, a rather well-known printing company have decided to give QR Code a shot. When ordering invitation cards from the company, customers are given the opportunity to create their own QR Codes and also mobile-friendly websites. How does it work?
Well, according to sources, when mobile phone users receive the card, they can RSVP via the QR Code. When the QR Code is scanned, it takes users to a mobile website where they can tell the sender of the card whether he or she will be attending the event or party.
Sources who tested the QR Codes said that although the idea is fantastic, Papersprings would do better if they eliminated the need to key in a special code before being allowed to access the mobile web page. Some said that the need to key in the code defeats the purpose of making it as easy as possible for mobile users when trying to access the site.
For the new service, Papersprings offer users the option of personalizing their own mobile landing pages, write their own customized messages and also load photos into the page and then a QR Code is created for the landing page.
Representatives from the company said that the concept is very new and that they intend for it to be a social web in a card.
While the idea is fantastic, one can similarly create a card without using Papersprings. For example, designing your own invitation or greeting card and loading it into a Print-On-Demand website like Zazzle.com or Cafepress.com, create a free QR Code with beqrious with our free QR Code generator. As for the issue of creating a mobile landing page, Zinadoo.com should do the trick.
We hope that more tools will be added to the service in the very near future.
