Set a world record, save a kid’s life

Want to do something fun, exciting, meaningful and will go down in the history books in the next couple of days. Or perhaps, you are just as easily excited about QR Codes as we are. Either way, here is your chance to join a bunch of enthusiastic youth in making the world’s largest QR Code in Toronto, Canada.

The tagline goes like this – Set a world record. Change a kid’s life! On Saturday, June 16, 2012, a group of people from all walks of life will come together in North York’s Ester Shiner Stadium, to create the QR Code. The thousand strong people is make the city’s history when they combine technology, enthusiasm, youth and charity all into one smooth campaign. It was reported that more than a thousand and three hundred people have agreed to turn the campaign into a reality. There are only a one thousand three hundred and sixty nine squares to be done up, so, we are unsure about the availability of ‘squares’ at this point. Nevertheless, even if you head over and there isn’t any ‘squares’ left for you, you would know that the donations will go towards a good cause, you can get snappy with your camera or just enjoy the atmosphere, which I am sure is going to be fantastic.

There is a minimum donation of $25 for each participant but if you are feeling generous on that day, the organizers, we are sure, do not mind much higher amounts. The event was put together by Toronto YFC or better known as Toronto’s Youth Unlimited and they can be contacted by phone at 647-227-5465. Frankly, projects like this is highly commendable simply because it brings together the youth, is meaningful because it is for a good charitable cause and it fires everyone up in a good way. Instead of spending the weekend crawling the mall, you get the chance to boast to your friends and family members about having had a hand in coming up with the world’s largest QR Code.
