Sky Harbor Uses QR Codes to Help Travelers Navigate Airport Easily
If you are at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport coming from or going to somewhere, and you need something, all you really have to do is look for QR codes. Why? Because Sky Harbor is using quick response codes to help travelers with whatever they need.
For example, you just landed and would need to get in touch with a car rental company. Or you want to know where you can find your airline. Or maybe you just want to know where you could grab a bite before boarding your plane. Just look for QR codes – especially ones on shirts worn by Sky Harbor staff – and you’d be directed to the airport’s mobile site.
Travelers with smartphones or tablets can scan the QR codes and automatically get directed to skyharbor.com. With this mobile website, people can get the information they need and they can also send in feedback to the airport.
With the Sky Harbor QR codes, you can:
- learn about your flight status
- know about parking locations, know about shops, restaurants, ground transportation, services and amenities
- fill out a taxi satisfaction feedback report or survey
- report a problem pertaining to the restrooms
Sky Harbor’s new mobile website also features an interactive tool called “Plan Your Visit,” allowing travelers to customize their search for services and amenities that are near their arrival or departure gates.
We think that it was a smart customer service move for Sky Harbor to create a mobile version of their website, considering how travelers nowadays rely heavily on their mobile devices. And we think that using QR codes to promote its site is an even smarter move.
QR codes allow people to access any urgent information they need in just a matter of minutes. It gives travelers the convenience they want and helps them save valuable time and energy. Especially with the fact that, in places like airports where cancelled or delayed flights can send people in a panic or bring them to tense moods, QR codes leading to the airport’s site can help keep travelers calm and content.
