Tell Best Buy What You Think With QR Code

bestbuy-goodbad

Just when you think auto ‘liking’ on Facebook page is the coolest thing to have happened to the online and mobile marketing industry, wait till you hear what Best Buy’s gone and done.

You can now tell Best Buy whether you like what you see…or you don’t. And all this with a simple scan of your phone.

This serves as a notable experiment that will give inspiration to many other retailers and if it worked, we are sure that people are going to be thanking Best Buy for being the first. But people will not forget that Best Buy was the first and regard the company as being a forward-thinking enterprise.

At this point in time, a poster has been posted up on Best Buy’s Headquarters and is called a ‘mood sampling’ poster. There is a thumbs up sign with a QR Code on it, and on the other side, a thumbs down picture. Consumers will get to tell the company whether whether what they saw was ‘good’ or ‘bad’. And the most amazing thing is that not only do the advertisers and the company have access to the information. The total number of ‘goods’ and ‘bads’ will be revealed to the mobile phone user.

And in the meantime, at the back-end, the company waits with anticipation, the results. The great thing with QR Code (amongst other great things) is that the advertiser knows precisely where the code was scanned. This gives them a location and a number for each scan and along with the information, the company is in a better position to court their customers.

If this little ‘experiment’ is a successful one, we can see in our mind’s eye, people like Pepsi, Nike, McDonalds, KFC, Starbucks, etc joining in on the game.

Just in case you are unaware of this one small fact but there is a free online QR Code generator provided by BeQRious and yes, it is ABSOLUTELY free of charge. So, even if you are not currently in love with QR Codes (we’ll try harder to change your mind), give it a try. Create your own QR Code, download the QR Code image into your computer and then place it on your blog or Facebook….just for fun.
