like

If you are planning a marketing campaign that involves QR codes, it might help you to look at previous campaigns that have succeeded with their goals. Not only will this give you an idea of what would work, it will allow you to plan and know what to expect with your own campaigns.

Here are some of the top QR code marketing campaigns for the second quarter of 2012, as named by Mobile Marketer.

Boston Market

Their goal was to get existing and new customers to their locations, so Boston Market used QR codes to give away dream vacations to Hawaii, as well as other prizes and discounts, to those who scan their codes.

This worked because it allowed the restaurant to engage their customers on a much deeper level, while also making the whole thing interactive. In addition, the incentive to scan the QR codes is also great.

Toys R Us

Did you know that Toys R Us also sells large outdoor items? They do and they used QR codes to help sell these items. Scanning a code could help parents see how these items would look like in their backyards, as well as allowing them to view photos of the item.

This way, the toy retailer will not have to use up precious space in its stores just to give you an idea of how their items look.

Cadillac

The carmaker used QR codes to take magazine readers on a tour with their cars. Cadillac also segmented their ads heavily, and showed content that would most likely appeal to that magazine’s readers. For example, their ads on Fortune magazine showed specific features of the XTS model that would appeal to businesspersons. The QR codes took readers to a mobile site that offered them more photos and videos of the car.

This worked because Cadillac took a static medium and brought their campaign to life with a QR code.
