Using QR Codes For A Good Cause

When you think of technology, the picture of ‘helping someone’ or ‘charity’ do not often pop up. That is because technology is, more often than not, a self-focused engine that fuels the ego or a profit-making organization. Here, in this article, I will turn all of that around and help you see that QR Codes and technology of such magnitude CAN be used for a good cause.

Support cancer research or other research establishments. Do you support a particular type of research facility and is trying to create more awareness for it? Do you have someone who survived cancer and thanks to such researches, you’ve not lost that person in your life? In both instances, it is easy to show your support.

First, you create a QR Code with our (dummy-proof) free QR Code generator, and download it into your computer in the format that you wish to have it in. Second, head over to a site like www.zazzle.com or www.cafepress.com and create a couple of t-shirts, mugs or mousepads for yourself or someone of your friends. And then you wear them around as much as you can!

Charitable causes need technology more than we do. With stuff like QR Code and internet, news can spread like wild fire. And since we can literally view, access and download the internet on the go, news can also spread ANYMORE, regardless of that person’s location. Hence, give charity a chance by spreading links to sites like WorldVision, RedCross, or Relief Organizations who are looking for and seeking aid to hard struck people and countries.

Another good example would be if you were volunteering for a donation drive, have a QR Code printed onto the donation boxes so that mobile phone users can get access to websites, phone numbers, blogs or other online information to dispel their worries about whether the drive was actually a legitimate one.

Having eliminated their concern about legitimacy, you have helped well-meaning people donate more generously and openly.

As you can see, tech stuff is not always selfish, although they are known to be used for self-promotional purposes most of the time. But you can change it around and use it for purposes that are close to your heart.
